History of Curtis Piper
I worked construction during summers and holidays while in high school and attending Mount Saint Mary's University.
Upon graduation I started a homebuilding company with my father in the New Oxford, Pennsylvania area. We built quality homes out of steel framing, which we learned in commercial construction. We later decided to build "Engineered Homes", meaning "I" Joist floor systems, engineered wood trusses and 2 X 6 exterior walls. This allowed our homeowners' flexibility in design and unparalleled energy efficiency.
After building a successful company, I decided I needed to gain more experience from a large, long-established builder. I joined the top volume builder in the Baltimore/Washington Metro area, learning more about building a large number of homes at a faster pace. I became skilled in their costing system and management of 20 plus employees building hundreds of homes yearly.
Moreover, I chose to expand my education in sales and marketing training. Now with starting my own company, I can provide quality and value unprecedented in the industry.
CJ Piper Builders, Inc. began after seeing the poor quality and hefty prices of new homes in the area. I knew I could build a much higher quality home at a more reasonable price.
I have set out to build Quality Affordable Homes in the region. My vision is to provide an affordably priced home that is also more affordable to live in. I want the heating and cooling bills to be lower than those in the inefficient homes I have seen being built. I want to minimize costly maintenance on the homes I build. All this means lower cost of ownership month after month. To accomplish these goals, I have incorporated features as standard, which are typically listed as costly upgrades with other builders.
Please, when choosing a homebuilder look at the materials & techniques being used as well as the longer term cost of ownership.
